About Us

In 2015, still reeling from the “Great Recession” and trailing the state of Florida and the nation, a group of business, community, and government leaders got together and decided something must be done. The Plant City EDC was born. The Plant City EDC was formed to assist local employers and to market our city to recruit new ones. Since its founding Plant City has seen great success in its core mission. This has assisted the city in its ability to offer necessary services to its residents and employees have seen wages rise and opportunities abound. 

With the tremendous growth of industry over the last decade and the evolution of Plant City the EDC has grown its initial charge to include workforce and quality of life as major objectives of the organization. From that core group of founders, membership has flourished and we now have well over 80 investors that believe in the mission of the EDC. 

The future is bright for Plant City as we continue our drive for new employment opportunities for our city and influence ways to further workforce development initiatives and quality of life enhancements.
